John Adolphus Pulley 1868-1951
John Adolphus "Dow" Pulley was the fifth child of Permenus and Electa Pulley. He was born on 2 Apr 1868.
On 12 Mar 1892, he married Sarah Emily "Emma" Higgins in Plad, Dallas County, Missouri. She was the daughter of William Tifton Higgins and Elizabeth Bland. Emma was born on 23 Jan 1875.
Dow and Emma had eleven children together:

The family made their home near Plad. Dow helped build the Plad Union Church and the Willow Springs School which his children attended. Dow and Emma separated. Emma died 30 November 1929. She is buried in the Prosperine Cemetery. The family story is that at some point after her death, Dow wanted to have her moved to Plad Cemetery, but their children wouldn't allow it. Dow Pulley died on 10 February 1951 in Buffalo, Missouri where he lived with his son, Delmar. He is buried in the Plad Cemetery.
