Amanda Mathilda (Pulley) Higgins

 

Amanda Mathilda Pulley was the eighth child of Permenus and Electa Pulley. She was born on 28 March 1875.

 

On 20 January 1892, Amanda married Moses Sheridan Higgins (1863-1938) in Dallas County, Missouri. Moses was the son of William Tifton Higgins and Elizabeth (Bland) Higgins.

 

Amanda and Moses had the following children:

• Joseph Higgins (1897-1948)

• Noah Higgins (1900-1953)

• Mary Magdeline Higgins (1904-1997)

• Orlando "Fats" Higgins (1905-1980)

• John E Higgins (1907-1992)

• Blanche Sarah Higgins (1911-1938)

• Albert Higgins (1913-1959)

• Alva Higgins (1913-1946)

• Dewey Higgins (1916-?)

 

Amanda and Moses later divorced. Amanda and her children lived in Newton, Harvey County, Kansas. Amanda died there on 13 July 1945. She is buried in the Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
