John Pulley (1803-1865)
John Pulley was born on 2 Aug 1803 in Madison County, Kentucky. He was the son of Deverix Pulley and Mary (Williams) Pulley. John and his family settled around Versailles, Missouri . On 24 January 1831, John married Jane Blakely (1813-1873) in Versailles, Missouri. She was the daughter of Thomas Blakely and Mary (Johnson) Blakely.

John Pulley was a blacksmith, a farmer, and a Mason. The family made their home in Morgan County and in 1844 moved with Jane's parents to Nodaway County, Missouri. John died on 11 April 1865 and is buried at Old Kenosha Landing , a point on the Missouri River 18 miles north of Nebraska City, Nebraska. It is thought that he may have been in that area working at the time of his death. Jane died on 8 August 1873 and is buried in Sharp Cemetery near Amity, Missouri.
